A smiling travel blogger stands atop a mountain ridge overlooking a lush valley, ready to help you plan your next adventure

Namaste! I’m Sidharth Shekhar, the curious soul behind Slow travel. For me, travel has never been about ticking off bucket lists or chasing passport stamps—it’s about sinking into the rhythm of a place, savoring its stories, and leaving with a deeper connection to both the world and myself.

My journey into slow travel began after years of squeezing weekend trips between hectic workdays, only to return home exhausted and unfulfilled. That experience rewired how I see adventure.

I’ve been wandering through India at a slower pace—staying in homestays, taking local trains, learning from artisans, and embracing the simple beauty of everyday life. From sipping chai with locals in a centuries-old haveli to trekking through the untouched villages of the Himalayas, I’ve found that the soul of India reveals itself when you pause, listen, and immerse yourself.

Now, I’m passionate about helping wanderers like you trade rushed itineraries for meaningful moments.

Why Slow Travel?
To me, slowing down means…

  • Listening deeply to places and people, not just passing through.

  • Traveling lighter—on the planet, and on my spirit.

  • Finding magic in the mundane, like sunlit cobblestone alleys or the ritual of a morning market.

  • Building bridges, not checklists, because the best memories often come from unplanned detours.

“This website is my love letter to intentional exploration. Here, you’ll find guides to thoughtfully curated journeys across the globe—where every itinerary breathes space for connection, not crowds.”

Slow travel is not only magical but sustainable too. It not only supports small businesses, local artisans, and community-led tourism but also encourages responsible travel choices like public transport and eco-stays.

If you truly want to experience India—not just visit it—slow travel is the way to go because this country is best experienced slowly. It allows you to live, learn, and leave with something far more valuable than just souvenirs: a deeper understanding of this incredible land.

Solo travel doesn’t have to mean being alone. When you slow down, you have deeper conversations with locals over chai at a roadside stall. You meet fellow travelers in small guesthouses, co-living spaces, and backpacker hostels.

Explore remote villages in Ladakh, Meghalaya, or Karnataka at your own pace.

Spend weeks in a small coastal town like Gokarna or Varkala, soaking in the laid-back vibes.

Take the scenic train journeys that reveal India’s landscapes in all their beauty.

Let’s form friendships that go beyond the usual “where are you from?” conversations.

Join me as I uncover India one slow journey at a time. Let’s swap stories, memories, photographs, travel tips, and inspire each other to travel more consciously. Come help me and yourself build friendships that turn a destination into a home. Follow along, and let’s rediscover India—one step at a time.
